After the Corona dificulties were back at the track! The weahter forecast was not so greath, the morning sunny but the afternoon perhaps rain. Well it rained A LOT!

The new tarmac at Zolder was pretty demanding on the tires and I alread read some stories that guys destroying the tires after seveal sessions. Just to be sure I brought a extra Metzler K2 tire in case it was needed.

The first time on the track was a very good feeling. The bike worked well and the track has a lot of grip! Ending the first session with a 1:51 was a good result for being back at Zolder for a long time.

The second dry session was a very good session. Starting to put in very consistent laps at 1:50 and finishing finishing with a 1:47.141 a personal best 🤗💪 was a good surprise but looking back it was making sense because the bike and track felt really well.

Then the rain started, at first it looked like it was not that bad and it could dry up again, so I skipped a session. But when the rain kept getting worse I put on the rain tires and went out for a spin. The first few laps where very careful because the organiser warned that the new asphalt could be slippery, so I build up the confidence step by step and while chasing Jordy Nys (a guy I met in Alcarras where we shared a box) putting in a 2:02.086 in full wet conditions was a nice ending.

The last session I went out but due to a earlier crash from a other group there was oil on the track and it was changing every time on the track so I did only one lap and then called it a day because I did not want to risk anything.

So it was a mixed day with a personal best and rain but after all a very nice trackday!
