Building up the bike from the last crash at SPA took some time. Dashboard was not working and all fairings where destroyed. Brought the bike to Ten Kate Racing and they fixed up the bike very fast.
The day started very sunny and it was a hot day. Went out on the bike on the first session and I drove with some caution to check if the bike is working properly. Only a small test drive was made when the buildup was finished. The bike and I performed well but the laptime was terrible. But the goals was to get the feeling back with the bike and it was good.
Every session that followed was getting better and better. Now with the ABS gone breaking was more consistent and I could break onder lean angle without any issues. The break pump was lacking a bit of pressure and bleeding it on the track did not improve it but it was drivable. Some laps where faster then others but my physical condition was not yet optimal. After the crash I did nothing and mostly took my rest. Riding back on the track is a great effort that I was not yet fully prepared for and the laptimes shows this as well.
My rear tirewamer was failing and the last session I had to start without a warm rear tire. Did 3 laps to see if the tyre warmed up, but the feeling was not good and other riders where passing my like I stood still. To not cause any harm to them and me I called it a day and ended the session sooner.
After all it was a very good day and had a lot of fun!
Gopro mounting was not on the bike so only photo’s this time.
